From your page to your grade

Schreiben works the way the exam does: you write, and you're graded on the four B2 criteria.

  1. 1 / 4

    Write it your way

Type in the app, or write on paper as you will in the exam. Each task gives you the exam's prompt, word count and time.

  2. 2 / 4

    Check what Punkt read

Scan your pages and Punkt turns your handwriting into text. Fix any word it misread before you hand in.

  3. 3 / 4

    See your points

About 20 seconds later you have points for each criterion, a likely score range, and the reason behind every grade.

A Schreiben result: 41 of 60 points, at pass level
  4. 4 / 4

    Fix what costs you most

Your three most expensive mistakes come first, each with the corrected sentence, then a B2 version of your own text.

Sprechen

Speak German out loud, as often as you like

Punkt is your exam partner. Give your talk in Teil 1, answer and ask questions, then discuss in Teil 2. You speak, Punkt replies in German, and the whole conversation is graded like the exam.

Questions

  • No. Bereit is an independent practice app, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Goethe-Institut. Its tasks are written for practice, in the format of the Goethe-Zertifikat B2.

  • Automatically, with AI, against the criteria the B2 exam uses: task fulfilment, coherence, vocabulary and grammar for Schreiben, plus fluency, questions and answers, interaction and register for Sprechen. Scores are estimates with a likely range, to show you what to fix, not official results.

  • No. Lesen and Hören are free, and so are your first Schreiben and Sprechen. For more, an exam pass lasts 1 or 3 months for one payment. It doesn't renew.

  • Photos of your pages and recordings of your voice are deleted 24 hours after upload. Your texts and results stay in your account until you delete it, which you can do in the app.

  • Not yet. Bereit is for iPhone.
